Navrasa Duende brings back the world famous Swan Lake Ballet to India

Navrasa Duende is a new venture from Energo India, a renowned 28-year-old Indian industrial group, in the realm of arts and entertainment. The company has an assortment of art and entertainment programs lined up in its inaugural year, with one of them being the world famous Russian ballet. Lovers of ballet and western classical music will be regaled with a stage production of Tchaikovsky’s famous ballet, Swan Lake, in the metro cities of India beginning 13th March in Mumbai which will give dance lovers a chance to partake in a unique version of the World Street Dance Carnival.

Following the resounding success of Swan Lake’s Indian premiere in September 2017 (Delhi), which was attended by a footfall of 10,000 people, the Mumbai tour is expected to draw nearly 10 times of this footfall. Navrasa Duende is bringing the joy back with Swan Lake Ballet's arrival in Mumbai from 13th to 25th March 2018A set of 15 shows will be held at National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA Auditorium), Mumbai.

The production in Delhi, which featured 41 artists of the Royal Russian Ballet, left audiences spellbound, as the young troupe brought alive, the spectrum of emotions that Tchaikovsky’s musical score is famous for. The upcoming productions of the ballet will also be choreographed by Vladmir Troschenko and directed by Anatoly Kazatsky. The response to the performances in Delhi was simply delightful and several people from the audience have asked the production house to bring the ballet to their city even before the event concluded. This led Navrasa Duende to plan this Mumbai tour and take the beautiful art form to other cities and acquaint more Indian audiences with it.

The inception of the organisation Navasa Duedne has its roots in its founder’s strong belief in promoting performing arts, visual and fine arts, and literary arts of all genres, including modern, traditional, classical, or popular, both in India and abroad. The company endeavours to conceive, create, design, manage, and promote unique productions of live entertainment across countries in a wholesome way, covering music, dance, theatre, cinematic arts, visual arts, literature, tourism, and events, at times blending multiple genres.

The quest to explore diverse cultures and art forms, introduce them to global audiences, and create an impact on the lives of people is at the core of Navrasa Duende’s activities. The organisation also aims to discover and promote young talent from the far-reaching corners of the globe, and to provide them with a platform to express, perform, and showcase their artistic flair. Through collaborations with esteemed artists and veteran performers, Navrasa Duende looks forward to foster an environment of thriving creativity. With support from the central and state governments of India, as well as governments and universities around the world, the organisation hopes to strengthen cultural relations between nations and promote arts and entertain audiences through carnivals and festivals.

About Swan Lake

Swan Lake is the most beloved and quintessential classical ballet, a timeless story of good versus evil. From the first yearning bars of Tchaikovsky’s score, it beckons you to another world, with its bewitched swan queen, doomed prince, glittering villainess and drifts of white tutus. Beautifully crafted and sensually romantic- it’s simply stunning. The twinned role of the radiant white swan and the scheming, duplicitous black swan tests the full range of a ballerina’s powers. Adored by audiences for over a hundred years, Swan Lake is the most famous ballet in the world. The sublime transcendence of choreography that has been passed down generations after generations is unmatched, and the music of Tchaikovsky’s is never more attuned to the struggles of the heart than in this poignant work. A truly international troupe of dancers will create mesmerising elegant swans.
