Raasta celebrates its 2nd anniversary with RagaDubFest 2.0

Raasta turns two this month and it is the time to feel good music and celebrate the values of freedom, happiness and universal brotherhood. Raasta, the Caribbean Lounge is all set to celebrate the music  with a three day long festival at Hauz Khas Village as a tribute to Bob Marley,  Rastafarian Culture, and the fabulous ‘feel good’ music that comes from there. Raasta brings together the cheery colours of red, green and gold; recreating the vibe that has made it a cult brand.

A take-off from the first festival, held last year, this festival is larger and bigger and promises a greater dose of fun, with an additional day. This festival brings together aline-up of reggae and dub-step artistes HSD Acoustic, Fuzz Culture, DJ Killwish, DJ Nucleya and many more, who will be showcasing  musical genres like reggae, dancehall, drum and bass & electronics as a special treat for all music lovers in the city. You would be advised to come prepared for a full on roller-coaster ride to get crazy tunes & lyrics of these reggae masters. The party animals in the town can let themselves free as Raasta promises fun nights with great music to groove in three day festival.

In the words of Raasta promoters, Joy Singh and Rahul Kundan, “Raasta is a philosophy and way of life. The huge popularity of the brand and the success of the first festival made it essential for us to take it to another level. We are delighted that a concept like Raasta has been well accepted by Delhi-ites with such enthusiasm. The 3 days festival is Raasta’s way of thanking the city and treating everyone to a line-up of music that brings together everything that Raasta is about. We have selected the artists not only for their specific kind of music, but for their ability to create an entertaining event for the crowd throughout the fest.”

Music fans can enjoy a line-up that boasts of varied headlining acts like, Killwish whose sets are majorly influenced from underground tribal sounds blended with new genres mainly consisting of dub step, Drum & Bass. Reggae Rajahs, India's first reggae sound system who have dedicated themselves to spread the sounds of dub, reggae and dancehall music across India, are Known for their energetic live performances, Fuzz Culture, a two piece electronic music outfit from New Delhi innovatively combines melody and groove within a framework of mix-tape experimentation. EZ Riser, the solo project of Sohail Arora pushes the cutting edge Electronica, Glitch Hop, Electro Hip Hop, Breaks; Bass House & IDM at the same time Nucleya, a bass heavy electronic artist have performed at numerous prestigious festivals and events around the world. And also has made it on the playlists of BBC Radio 1 and many other radio stations around the world.

So don’t you even think of missing these performances during the three day fest as all these artists will be spinning the best tunes from their collections!
