VYRL Originals release their third track ‘Heer’ today. Going far beyond the story of Heer, this song launch reflects the story of an aspiring talent who originates from humble means from a small town in the interiors of India.
Ved Sharma, a boy from a town called Dabra in Madhya Pradesh grew up listening to Bollywood music, yearning to be a part of the industry someday. His foray in the entertainment world began at the age of 16 as a Radio Jockey and a Voice Over artist for a local radio station. Miles away from the city of dreams- Mumbai, he knew his dream was a distant reality.
As fate would have it, a chance meeting with singer Ash King during a film promotion trip in MP turned Ved’s life around. Ash King introduced Ved to filmmaker Mohit Suri who was enthralled by Ved’s talent and gave the multi-talented artist a launch platform with VYRL Originals.
Ved is now geared up for his debut single ‘Heer’ which is a contemporary love ballad, composed, sung and written by him. The song is about a man professing his love to the woman of his dreams using the classic story of Heer Ranjha (Romeo & Juliet) as a metaphor.
Ved stated that the idea of the track is that Heer is a song about a man professing his love to the woman of his dreams using the classic story of Heer Ranjha (Romeo & Juliet) as a metaphor. “He is convinced that she is the reason of his existence in this world”.
“Music means a lot to me, it’s a way of expressing my emotions. When I was an RJ & surrounded by music every day, it made me realise my true passion for singing & song writing. Romantic songs are my forte”.
Speaking on the release, Mohit Suri said, “Our intent was to go far and wide and hunt for artists who are incredibly talented and provide them with this platform we have created for independent musicians. I’ve always loved working with new singers, songwriters and composers and I’m so glad that we discovered a talented artist like Ved from a small town in India for this project.”
Vinit Thakkar, Senior Vice President, Universal Music Group India & South Asia and EMI Records India added, “Our vision for VYRL Originals has always been to promote young talent from all over the region who don’t always get the opportunity to showcase their music in films. I’m proud that we could provide this unique platform for Ved and will continue to release great content from talented musicians”
The official lyric video of the track is out now on YouTube / VEVO.
