Repackaged retro song ‘whistles’ to the top.

Who would ever imagine that the haunting flute melody, which sent fans into a frenzy for the father Jackie Shroff in “Hero” in 1983, would resurface three decades years later to recreate history for the

son, Tiger Shroff, in Sajid Nadiadwala’s “HEROPANTI”.

The legendary melody has been superbly recreated by ManjeetRai of ManjMusik, who under his earlier brand name RDB, composed blockbusting melodies for many films.

Overwhelmed at still another landmark for Saregama India Ltd., Business Head-Music, Adarsh Gupta who says, “ I can cite scores of examples from Saregama’s prized collection of premium movie tracks, from the 50’s to the 90’s, that have been chartbusters, whenever recreated, for blockbusters released recently. But the Whistle Bajake track from Heropanti, based on the evergreen Hero tune, has surpassed all records. Its instant connect shows that the youth believes in the golden oldies, whenever correctly and creatively represented in its new avatar. Kudos to producer SajidNadiadwala for identifying and imaginatively presenting the Whistle Baja, which was a rage from the day it was released. And is today No. 1 on most charts.”

The last week's chart at Fever FM unanimously figured Whistle Baja on top of their all-India charts.

Director Sabbir Khan is elated and summarizes saying, “Manj and me have had a special tuning since 2008 and I am thrilled that we have peaked in Whistle Baja.“

Despite his busy schedule of directing “Kick”, slated for an Eid release, Sajid Nadiadwala has been daily monitoring the pre-release preparations of “Heropanti” and was overjoyed when he learnt that “Heropanti” had achieved its 1ST landmark, prior to release, by topping the music “Belonging to a family of film-makers with a 60 years tradition, I believe in the old world charm of cinema. And the magic of music of yesteryears, if effectively energized by today’s talent, is always an asset to a movie’s presentation & promotion.”

Earlier retro-repackaged examples like Bachna Aye Haseeno, proved its potential to pull an immense crowd too.

Having crossed its first landmark, Heropanti’s Whistle Baja too, will have the box-office whistling all the way to the bank.
