Taufiq Qureshi is the son of the legendary tabla maestro, Ustad Allarakha. He happens to be one of the most sought after rhythm-programmers, arranger-composers and percussionists in the world of studio recordings (film background scores, ad-jingles, albums etc). One can witness his creative versatility as a producer- composer and percussionist in his albums like Bombay Fever (2006) and Mystic Soundscapes- Forest (2007). He was featured as a performing artiste on the 2009 Grammy award winning album ‘Global Drum Project’. Taufiq’s album ‘Rhydhun’ amongst others is said to have set new standards for world music in India. He is greatly influenced by his illustrious brother UstadZakir Hussain, yet he chose a completely different path to come out of the shadow of his great father and brother and make his own mark. Taufiq Qureshi, a pioneer of Indian fusion music, is a self-made man and that makes him truly a GAME CHANGER.
