Lux Cozi presents Zee Cine Awards 2014 powered by Dabur Vatika Enriched Olive Hair and Karbonn has turned out to be a grand, starry night as the Indian entertainment industry walked down the red carpet for Zee’s prestigious Cine Awards 2014. Epic performances, genuine awards presented to best of talent from last year’s movie world and hilarious spoofs on the splendid stage left the audience asking for more.

This year Zee Cine Awards 2014 brought back the popular funny duo, Abhishek Bachchan and Ritiesh Deshmukh as hosts for the ritzy evening. Farhan Akhtar bagged the Best Actor-Male (Jury) award for his unbeatable performance in Bhaag Milkha Bhaag. The Best Actor-Female (Jury) award was bagged by Sonakshi Sinha for the critically acclaimed performance in Lootera. Rakyesh Omprakash Mehra shone at the ceremony as he bagged the award for Best Film-Jury and Best Director-Jury for Bhaag Milkha Bhaag.

The all exuberant celebrities of tinsel town were seen gliding through the aisle for the evening. Chennai Express literally became an express hit winning the Best Film (Popular) this year. Deepika Padukone who swayed the past year with four films at box office, walked away with the Best Actor- Female (Popular) for Chennai Express. Shah Rukh Khan followed his Chennai Express co-star to receive the Best-Actor Male (Popular).

Alike Deepika, her movie Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani bagged three awards for Best Screenplay, Best Movie (Popular) and Pritam won Best Background Score for the same. The effervescent star also took home the ‘Dhamakedar Performer Award’.

Speaking of Deepika, the most exciting act of the evening included Bollywood’s one of the hot-pairs, was that of hers with Ranvir Singh. The two recreated the magic of Ram Leela as they sizzled on stage – together – for the first time ever! As their visibly striking chemistry set the stage on fire, the crowd was left asking for more.

Sonakshi Sinha danced her heart out with an endearing act and she definitely became the ‘Lootera’ of crowds’ applaud that evening. Honey Singh made the audience smile and enjoy his classy performance on his famous songs. He went ahead to collect the International Icon- Male Award this year.

Humor being the indispensable part of the evening, the riotous spoofs by the popular Indian comedienne Bharati and Shah Rukh Khan filled the atmosphere with hoard of laughter as they announced the Best Film nominations.

In a first of its kind ever award, the power of women got inspiring recognition with Zee Cine Awards introducing the ‘Stree Samman Award.’ This year, Farah Khan, choreographer-turned-director was bestowed with this distinguished honour for her significant contribution so far.

The glittering evening got to witness the martial art expert of Bollywood, Akshay Kumar in a thrilling performance kept the audience astonished. He also unveiled the ‘first-look’ of his much anticipated upcoming release, ‘Holiday’. Actor Ali Zafar attended the event to unveil his next release, ‘Total Siyappa’ starring Yaami Gautam. The two lead staged a sweet act to promote their movie.
