Ali – Original Sound Track – (Universal Music)

Will Smith as Ali has created a wave overseas. However he is still to make his showdown here.
Though the movie is pretty good, the OST leaves a lot to be seen. It’s a mixed feeling one gets when one plays the album, because most part of the sound track is by new comers which surely won’t go well with music lovers. But keeping that aside, from the 15 pieces here, there are a few that could hold your attention for a while.

There’s R.Kelly who opens the album with a tribute to greatest of all boxers in the song, The World’s Greatest, followed by songstress Alicia Keys in Fight. Among the more common ones we have the grandmother of pop Aretha Franklin in Ain’t no way a uptempo piece that you could settle for and maybe rewind to, which fall into the pick of the lot category, However you could also check out The Greatest (Everlast) and A change is gonna come (Al Green feat. Booker and the MG’s) Don’t miss out the Bob Dylan penned classic All Along the Watch Tower which strikes a note and may appeal to you.

Overall, like I said in the beginning ‘Ali’ (OST) may not strike the right punches with the masses, for one can only hope that Will Smith’s hard work and dedication in the movie leaves his fans knocked out on the ropes.
