The Fame - Lady GaGa (Universal Music) Rs. 395/-

Stefani Gabriella Germanotta aka Lady GaGa, (an interesting artist name one might say), has included herself on the dance circuit on the lines of the Pussycat Dolls, Rihanna, Chris Brown and can even make Madonna go gaga over her.

An accomplished DJ in her own right, Lady GaGa’s sound is essentially pop dance portraying American club culture, which also sees her showing off different genres, including heavy dance, electro – pop, disco, hip hop. She also tries her hand at ballads which come out pretty well. The lead-off single ‘Just Dance’ is easily the highlight here with its very contagious groove.

Produced by Akon and RedOne, the song is a vivacious, bouncy dance-infused with additional vocals from Akon and Colby O’Donis. The other tracks follow a similar pattern. Poker Face is another catchy hauting tune. GaGa also takes on a Motley Crue (remember Girls, Girls, Girls) in a replica with her Boys Boys Boys which is a fun song. LoveGame has a very catchy chorus, a pulsating beat and naughty lyrics. She puts in a slight reggae rhythm on Eh Eh (Nothing Else I Can Say) which comes off well. Beautiful Dirty Rich has a hard-edged drum baseline.

Her lyrics focus on celebrity obsession, body-image, money, cars and girls. Lady GaGa’s debut effort is fresh, exciting catchy dance album with hit potential set to garner a lot of fans, hit big time and be a major hit. You cannot miss this album, for if you listen to it once you are sure to go gaga over Lady Gaga.
