In The Court Of The Crimson King - King Crimson

This album is an uncanny masterpiece in the Art-Rock, Progressive Rock genre. A definite debut album, it is highlighted by an orchestrated vision of apocalyptic doom dominated by Ian McDonald’s Mellotron, Greg Lake’s dignified voice and ferocious guitar playing of Robert Fripp. It is best remembered for the sci-fi fury of 21st Century Schizoid Man – the other songs find the band operating in the semi-classical mode favoured by early art rockers. And of course it has a stunning artwork for a stunning debut.

The record is not easy to find but whenever you get a chance just grab it.

Released on: October, 1969

The following line up is on the album:

Robert Fripp: Guitar

Ian McDonald: Reeds, Keyboards

Greg Lake: Bass

Mike Giles : Drums

Pete Sinfield: Synths
