The second edition of Nariyal Paani, now a two-day event, promises to be magical. The festival site is an enchanting and secluded location by the sea in Alibaug – a short boat ride away from Mumbai, which ensures festival goers a very unique experience. In addition, Nariyal Paani will also have its very own campsite this year, attached to the festival grounds. Performances will include a diverse variety of talent, ranging from indie, electro-pop, alternative rock, ska and hip-hop, to more mellow folksy outfits. Sulafest 2016
SulaFest, held in Sula Vineyards, near the city of Nashik in India, is the country’s premier gourmet world music festival. The Lost Party 2016
The three-day multi-genre festival is back in its second edition and features some of India’s freshest talent like Donn Bhat + Passenger Revelator, Big City Harmonics, Oceantied alongside favourites like Karsh Kale, The Bartender and many others.
The Indian line-up at the festival has been curated by Pepsi MTV Indies.
Moving to a new venue this year, in 2015, The Lost Party made its debut in the luxe hill station Lavasa. Hyderabad will become the first city in India to host the state of the art international phenomena. In the olden days, there was a tradition of making a tattoo on their face, which one can still see on the face of the ladies. It is indeed amazing to capture but do ask before you take a picture.

Rajasthan International Folk Festival
For a decade, the three-day Rajasthan International Folk Festival (or “RIFF” for short) has focused on classic and modern interpretations of Indian folk music. The festival is endorsed by both the United Nations and Mick Jagger, and is sponsored by a non-profit partnership between the Mehrangarh Museum Trust and the Jaipur Virasat Foundation, thus helping it gain a reputation as a “peoples’ platform for creativity and sustainable development” by the UN. The October date is significant in that it’s timed to coincide with Sharad Purnima, the brightest full moon of the year in north India. From rap to sitar melodies, all genres are touched upon here.

Echoes of Earth
Bangalore will witness its very own music festival in 'Echoes of Earth'. The festival that will spread over 150 acres will celebrate music and earth with 40 international and Indian artists over two days. One can expect live sounds of rock, jazz, classical, fusion, electronica, and a lot more on three very uniquely-crafted stages that will be centrepieces of the festival.
The first line up of artists for Echoes of Earth includes global musicians such as Submotion Orchestra (UK), Beardyman (UK), Alo Wala (Den), Susheela Raman (UK), Talvin Singh (UK), Sitarsonic (Fra), Franca (Ger), Asvajit (Sl), Sam Maher (Aus), Soulmate (Ind), Peter Cat Recording Co. Jazz India Circuit presents Goa International Jazz Live Festival
Jazzing up the Goa music scene every year is the Goa International Jazz Live Festival
(GIJLF), the experimental, up-tempo, funky celebration of new age jazz. With a definite aim to push the boundaries of what typically constitutes the sound of the genre, GIJLF mixes punk, hip-hop, R&B and other forms of music with jazz to come up with tunes that appeal both to the ears and feet. This year, as part of Jazz India Circuit – an effort by Teamwork Arts to promote jazz across India – Goa will host eight cutting-edge experimental bands.
The Jazz India Circuit is an endeavour by Teamwork Arts to spread the word and sound of jazz across the country through various concerts that span the spectrum of the fascinating genre. The frothy, experimental jazz celebration that will symbolize the spirit of the Goa International Jazz Live Festival. Free of the shackles of classic jazz, the edgy and experimental nature of the music will speak to the ears, the feet and the soul.

Hornbill Festival
Hornbill Festival is celebrated annually during the first week of December, i.e. from December 1-7. However, during the year 2013 it was extended for few more days. It now normally concludes on December 10.
Hornbill festival, also known locally as the “Festival of Festivals, is organized by State Tourism and Arts and Culture Department, Government of Nagaland to encourage inter-tribal harmony and promote colorful local culture and traditions, display its unique customs, rituals and practices as well as preserve its heritage. Tourists are warmly welcomed and are treated well. The celebrations are attended by all the major tribes of Nagaland who present themselves with various arts, folk songs, dances and games. There are numerous displays of handicrafts, handloom, multi-cuisine, local food stalls while a rich amount of rice beer always at hand to indulge in. Evenings are lighted by the thrilling Hornbill National Rock Concert in which bands from all over the country and abroad participate to compete. This is followed by the amazing Night Market in the town. But the most attractive event at the festival is Naga chilly eating competition and pork eating festival which draws a lot of crowd and evokes much fanfare and excitement.
The festival is held at the Naga Heritage Village in Kisama, located around 12 kilometers from the capital of the Nagaland, Kohima. It begins at 9 am each day. You can reach the venue by booking a taxi. Purchase the tickets at the entry gate and pass through the security check however make sure you have a valid pass to park the vehicle at the site.

Bacardi NH 7 Weekender
The happiest music festival just dropped its much-awaited 2016 artist lineup. The seventh edition of the festival is returning with some of the most prominent global names including Steven Wilson, DJ Premier, Jose Gonzalez, Vertical Horizon, RAC (DJ Set) and Anoushka Shankar. Amongst the Indian contingent, Shankar Mahadevan presents ‘My Country, My Music’, Papon, Indian Ocean, Shri, Skyharbor, Farhan Live, PrateekKuhad and Nucleya lead the way.

Magnetic Fields Festival
Globally recognized as one of the most beautiful festivals in the world for its blend of heritage arts mixed with contemporary culture, Magnetic Fields has quickly come to be associated with pushing future-facing sounds and alternative artists from India and around the world. Red Bull Music Academy a global institution committed to fostering creativity in music will take over the North stage of the festival, 2nd year in a row, for a showcase that brings together RBMA alumni and artist affiliates from around the world. The eclectic talent on display reflects both Magnetic Fields’ ethos of exploration and RBMA’s continued commitment to celebrating music, its culture, and the transformative minds behind it.
The theme for 2016 is “navigation”, drawing on sound and vibration to navigate the realms of space and time using the sacred knowledge of ancient astronomers, alchemists, mystics and mathematicians. The festival aesthetic, using materials like reclaimed wood, bamboo, handmade paper and muslin, will illustrate the theme. Hosted in a 17th century palace-turned-hotel, Alsisar Mahal, the festival will be held from December 9-11 this year.
