Main Vaapas Aunga

For me, ‘Main Vaapas Aunga’ is yet another Imtiaz Ali film that mistakes emotional ambition for emotional impact. It's a film with interesting ideas, beautiful visuals and some pleasant music, but at its heart, it never makes you feel what it desperately wants you to feel.

Supergirl

This one has promise, but it does not hit all the right buttons. It’s not about the production values or the efforts and so on, but it’s attitude for the sake of attitude. It doesn’t have that charisma that will make it remembered. By far it tries too hard to fill in a character that is not really so well known and will always be considered secondary compared to ‘Superman’, a.k.a. Man Of Steel.

Tuner

Screened at the 52nd Telluride Film Festival in 2025 and also at the Toronto International Film Festival, ‘Tuner’ has a simple plot of a talented piano tuner’s meticulous skills for tuning pianos that lead him to discover an unexpected gift for cracking safes, that puts his life into a dangerous tangent that turns life threatening.

Attempting to put together five decades of a band’s history in less than two hours might seem like an impossible task. Take for instance even the recently released pop flick ‘Michael’, which is a half biopic, which they now say may have a sequel.

If you are a Billie Eilish fan, this would be a great film to watch of your music idol, but if you aren’t a Billie Eilish fan, watching this concert film might just make you one. With James Cameron behind the camera, the director who gave us the Oscar winning ‘Titanic’, expect this to be one of his titanic projects in concert film making as he takes you zooming in 3D style across the stage to give you 114 minutes of a nonstop turbocharged performance by Billie Eilish who literally completes just a decade in her music career.

Fuze

At its heart, ‘Fuze’ is juxtaposing a tense situation of a high-stake bomb disposal operation against a chaotic, city-wide evacuation. The director creates a dual-layered narrative that keeps the audience anchored to the screen. It is rare to see an action film that manages to balance the technical precision of a tactical unit with the calculated, cool-headed aggression of a professional heist crew.

Michael

The late music icon’s nephew Jermaine Jackson’s son, Jaafar Jackson, in the title role in ‘Michael’ surely has the singer’s career well documented in this half biopic that traces the singer’s career as a child artist with his brothers in The Jackson 5, through his solo career as an adult on his way to becoming one of the most influential voices of pop music worldwide.

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie

2023's ‘The Super Mario Bros. Movie’, the sequel starts with the introduction of Rosalina (Brie Larson), the sky-blue princess who first appeared in the 2007 Wii game from which the movie gains its title. Surrounded by her adoptive children — star-shaped, baby-voiced pudges called Luma, Rosalina is kidnapped by a mighty spaceship from her home by Bowser Jr. (Benny Safdie) and then begins a chase to get her back.

Boong

‘Boong,’ the first Indian film to receive a British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA) honor in the Best Children’s and Family Film category, and originally released in September 2024, the Manipuri-language Boong (with subtitles) is back in cinemas to mark its top prize status.
