Best of Madhuri Dixit – (Shemaroo Home Entertainment) - 4 DVD Pack Rs. 399/-

Here’s your chance to own 4 of the best movies by the ‘Ek Do Teen’ Bollywood starlet Madhuri Dixit. Dixit has established herself as one of Hindi cinema's leading actresses, acknowledged not only for her acting skills, her beauty, but more for her accomplished dancing. Here you have movies like ‘Khalnayak’, ‘Dil’, ‘Beta’ and ‘Raja’ from her impressive body of work.

Love on the run is what ‘Khalnayak’ (1993) is all about. Sanjay Dutt playing the lead is a hardened criminal on the run, who outwits everyone that comes in his way. He then meets Ganga (Madhuri Dixit), an undercover cop, posing as a dancer. He gets conned by her beauty and is emotionally trapped in a cradle of love. Subhash Ghai’s blockbuster also features some great music too. The film earned Madhuri six nominations for the Filmfare Best Actress Award, with the film being the second highest grosser that year.
Prior to this in 1990, Dixit starred in Indra Kumar’s romantic-drama ‘Dil’ opposite Aamir Khan, playing the role of a rich girl meets poor boy story. The film became the biggest box-office hit of the year and earned Dixit her first ever Filmfare Best Actress Award of her career.

In 1992, Dixit featured once again in a Indra Kumar film ‘Beta’ opposite Anil Kapoor. Dixit's performance of Saraswati, a woman married to an illiterate, well-meaning man who exposes her scheming mother-in-law, won her a second Filmfare Best Actress Award. The film also had a melodious soundtrack that found many takers.

Fueled by success in the past, 1995 saw Dixit in a different avatar in ‘Raja’ opposite Sanjay Kapoor, and once again in an Indra Kumar's film which dwells on rich girl wanting to marry poor boy despite parental pressure. But life takes a turn when things go wrong between Raja and his brother. Watch the climax.

Taking a break from films after marriage, Dixit moved to the US, only to return to India in 2011. To date, she has won a total of five Filmfare Awards, four for Best Actress and one for Best Supporting Actress. She also holds the record for the highest number of Best Actress nominations (13) at Filmfare. In 2008, she was awarded the Padma Shri India's fourth-highest civilian award by the Government of India.
