Presented by the Mehrangarh Museum Trust, the World Sacred Spirit Festival (WSSF) brings together talent from different parts of the world and showcases the spiritual significance of music that transcends communities, cultures, and creeds. Mahindra Kabira Festival
Come November, Varanasi, the birthplace of the mystic-poet saint Kabir, a city unparalleled for its unique ambience, soul and history, will come alive once again with our annual celebration of Kabir’s teachings in a rich two-day programme of music, history and serenity.
The fourth edition of the Mahindra Kabira Festival, to be held between 22-24th November 2019, will once more inspire an experience of intangible beauty and musical intensity. The idea behind Kabira is to feast one’s senses and spirit on the calm within the chaos of the world’s oldest city and feel that intangible “oneness amongst diversity” preached by Kabir, through the unrivalled power of music, literature and the arts.
Taking off from the memorable past three editions, the festival celebrates the spirit of Kabir and the glorious simplicity of his philosophy and espouses the lyrical aspect of his teachings within a fulfilling two-day programme. Imagine the power of the music as they chime with the peal of ancient temple bells – in a city steeped in history, music, art, mysticism and religion, a city which accommodates multitudes and enables the happy co-existence of the arts and the spiritual.
Kabir’s poetry is all about inclusiveness – and like every year, Mahindra Kabira will celebrate this philosophy and essentially bring to music-lovers an unforgettable experience of listening to leading exponents of the Benares gharana and folk traditions, of Sufi music, dadra, thumri, khayal gayaki styles, ghazals and pakhawaj and tabla players in an ambience redolent with history iand a melting pot of voices and colours intrinsic to the pulse of India’s cultural matrix. Magnetic Fields Festival 2019
Presented by Abhimanyu Alsisar in the year 2014, consistently in center of December Alsisar Mahal has an otherworldly melodic jubilee called Magnetic Fields Festival. The glorious Alsisar Mahal is changed into the throbbing, beating setting for the Magnetic Fields Festival – praising the best of the global underground music scene. The yearly celebration at Alsisar Mahal, which is a major hit currently, is nothing not as much as a visual dream, an exceptional marriage of contemporary culture with Rajasthani legacy and neighbourliness.
