Stuttgart meets Mumbai wine festival to kick start on 1st February 2018

The 14th edition of Stuttgart meets Mumbai Wine Festival is being held between 1st February & 2nd February 2018 at the Taj Lands End Hotel in Mumbai. The festival celebrates 50 years of the long and enduring partnership between the twin cities of Stuttgart and Mumbai. The event is being organised by Andreas Lapp, Chairman of the Board Lapp Holding AG and Honorary Consul of the Republic of India for Baden-Württemberg and Rhineland-Palatinate.

To value the extraordinary mark in the milestone, Mr. Lapp has invited the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra to play in cooperation with the famous Symphony Orchestra of India on 1st February 2018 at NCPA, Nariman Point, Mumbai.

Together with Mr. Lapp, Lord Mayor of Stuttgart, Mr. Kuhn, will inaugurate the wine festival on February 2nd 2018. It is an ideal and unique platform for Indo-German networking, international understanding and intercultural get-together. The event will witness highly ranked political representatives from Stuttgart and Baden-Württemberg are meeting their counterparts from Mumbai and Maharashtra consolidating the bonds and co-operations on state and city level.

The wine festival Stuttgart meets Mumbai has won several awardsearlier, such as the Life Style Event of the Year Category - A live event, with the main aspect of engagement being to showcase art/creativity.

Details of the event:

Day 1: Thursday, 1st February 2018

Jubilee Concert with Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra in cooperation with Symphony Orchestra of India, NCPA Mumbai Tata Theatre (by invite only)

The evening will kick-off with the live performance of Musical star Kevin Tarte who presents the vivid and well-reputed Stuttgart cultural scene. The official opening act will be supported by a live performance of classical music by Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra to play a concert in Mumbai, in cooperation with the famous Symphony Orchestra of India. The performance will be shown with Haydns Cello concerto Nr. 1 C major Hob. VIIb: 1. (Soloist will be the 2nd solo-violoncellist Nikolaus von Bülow) and the Tchaikovsky Serenade for String Orchestra C major op. 48.

Day 2: Friday, 2nd February 2018

Stuttgart meets Mumbai Wine Festival (by invite only)

The evening concentrates on a live cooking show with Senior-Pâtissier Mr. Schäfer of the star kitchen Speisemeisterei (Stuttgart) presenting on stage together with Theresa Olkus, wine queen from Baden-Württemberg.

Culinary highlights from Stuttgart e.g. Swabian Maultaschen and Apple Pie

A variety of workshops, information stalls on the festival ground and a diverse entertainment programme with traditional dances and artists await the guests. In this 14thfestival year once again award-winning wines and culinary specialties will be offered.
