21st June, 2026The Disney Pixar’s “Toy Story 5” Original Soundtrack is available to stream from Walt Disney Records. The highly anticipated Soundtrack features an original song from 14-time Grammy® Award-winning artist and recent Songwriters Hall of Fame inductee Taylor Swift titled, I Knew It, I Knew You, and an all new original score from Academy® Award-winning composer Randy Newman.
I Knew It, I Knew You broke streaming and airplay records out of the gate and debuted at #1 on the singles charts in the US, UK, Canada, Germany, Australia and Austria. It debuted #1 on Billboard’s Hot 100 Chart and Global 200 Chart. The song is also the #1 Apple and Spotify Soundtrack Debut of All Time, the #1 Amazon Music Debut of 2026, and the #1 YouTube Trending Debut.
Additional highlights for I Knew It, I Knew You include #1 Global and US Debuts at Apple, iTunes and Spotify. The song is a runaway smash at radio as well in multiple formats, including the history-making debut in the Country Airplay top 10, marking the first time a female singer has done so since the chart was established in 1990.
I Knew It, I Knew You was written and produced by Taylor Swift and Jack Antonoff, and is inspired by the rootin’ tootin’ cowgirl Jessie’s ongoing journey that began back in “Toy Story 2.” The song also marks a return to Taylor Swift’s country roots, blending styles that have defined her record-breaking career as a songwriter and artist. Swift wrote of I Knew It, I Knew You on her Instagram, “Creating something for Jessie was a new challenge and also felt like second nature all at once. And being a @toystory kid from the age 5 til now… is an adventure I plan to be on, to infinity and beyond.”
The film’s Director, Andrew Stanton added, “It’s incredible just how meaningful it’s been having Taylor write and perform this song. Her connection to Jessie and the immediate way she understood what the character was going through was undeniable. The song is so deeply connected to ‘Toy Story.’ So much so that on first listen, it instantly felt like it had always belonged there, like a long-lost family member. It was kismet.”
The all-new Original Score is Randy Newman’s fifth “Toy Story” feature. His iconic compositions are as emblematic of the franchise as the toys themselves. The celebrated song, You’ve Got A Friend In Me written and performed by Newman for the original “Toy Story.” Is featured in all five “Toy Story” films. For Newman, it’s a joy to still be such an integral part of the franchise. “It does me good to be able to write for these films,” he explains. “It’s a liberating feeling for me. It’s amazing, Pixar’s records. And this one was a pleasure. They’ve all been great and ‘Toy Story 2’ was especially enjoyable, but I think this was the most fun I’ve ever had doing one of those.”
Producer Lindsey Collins added, “Randy has been a part of this journey for 30 years. He has an encyclopedic knowledge of the story and its characters, and it makes all the difference because it allows you to lean into nostalgia and also break away from it and crate something new. To have him back is huge.” For director Stanton, Newman’s contributions were invaluable and helped shape the film’s narrative. “Randy is a writer and author through song and music,” Stanton says. “It feels like working with another screenwriter. He understands the unconscious this that you’re trying to capture and has unparalleled narrative instincts.”
The “Toy Story 5” Original Soundtrack will also be available in ATMOS. A 2-disc vinyl set and a CD will be available in September and can be pre-ordered now at www.disneymusicemporium.com and your favorite retailer.
