Dreams come true, as the curtains go down on Vh1 Supersonic 2017

The multi-genre music festival managed the impossible by flying down the aviophobic, legendary artist Eric Prydz to headline its first day with his sensational performance. Prydzers were truly mesmerized as he struck a chord with them by concluding the first day of Vh1 Supersonic with his superset.

Day one of Vh1 Supersonic commenced as Indian artist Raghav Holla opened the Sonic Realm Stage and Quistek brought life to the Spectrum Stage. The raging momentum was consistently maintained through the day with eclectic artists such as B.R.E.E.D, Tarqeeb, Zaeden, Quintino, Pearl and many more hit the beat at their respective stages. Music aficionados were treated to a mix bag of Indian and International artists across various genres through the day.

Music fans cheered on their favourites armed with quirky posters, neon headgears, masks and many such eccentric accessories. The number of selfies and groupfies taken by superfans to record their memorable moments were unbelievable! Many recreated their childhood memories with LED see-saws and community swings installed at the venue. The fans were in their happy zone as they experienced all the on-ground fun packed for them at the festival.

Raw emotions of hip hop fans ignited Laxmi Lawns as they witnessed the transformational journey of Vh1 Supersonic Their intense passion towards the genre was clearly visible as on Day two Macklemore took to stage and mesmerized the crowds with his popular numbers. While Can’t Hold Us touched their souls, fans waited with bated breath for him to perform the one all-time favorite song. This was evident when all of Sonic Realm turned into a giant dancefloor the moment he began performing Thrift Shop. His performance struck a chord with every music lover present at the venue regardless of their affection towards hip hop as a genre; thereby giving a grand finish to the second day of Vh1 Supersonic.

Excited about his return to India, Macklemore said, “This is not my first time in India; in fact, this is my third time here and I have to say- India is the best place ever. So when I got a chance to perform in India at Vh1 Supersonic I said Hell Yeah! We haven’t really slept, we haven’t really eaten, but it does not matter: we want to party with you tonight! Because, at the end of all of this, we leave here as family!”

Day 2 commenced with names such as DJ Skip and Sequ3l B2B Diatonik opening the Sonic Realm and Spectrum Stage. The audience continued to add life to the festival with their infectious energy that resonated across Laxmi Lawns. The exuberant lineup continued as Collective Frequency, Aly & Fila, Vachan Chinappa, BOGL, Aneesh Gera vs. Paul Thomas, Eagles and Butterflies took to their respective stages and treated their fans to an exciting day! While Macklemore ended the night on a high at Sonic Realm, our local sensation Arjun Vaghale gave a grand finish to Day 2 at the Spectrum Stage.

With over 40 stalls offering everything from food to apparel to trinkets, the flea market became a shopper’s paradise. Several fans were seen jamming to the live sets wearing neon headgears and quirky props and accessories bought at the Super Flea. Absorbing the infectious vibe at the festival, fans caught a break between sets by relaxing and grabbing a bite in the adorable tepees created by Team Supersonic.

The third and final day of Vh1 Supersonic commenced as Backclash and Jitter B2B Vinayak A respectively took to Sonic Realm and Spectrum Stage. The wild spirit consistently soared as Lost Stories, Tansane, MOJO JOJO and Blot! b2b Kohra united all music lovers. The vibe at Laxmi Lawns was filled with unstoppable chants and cheers for every single performance.

As an exciting fourth edition of Vh1 Supersonic comes to a magnificent end, it lives on in memory of all the thousands of music lovers that were part of its transformative journey.

As the sun set on Vh1 Supersonic, Pune witnessed a multitude of emotions in the span of a few hours. The three-day festival set a new benchmark with its final electrifying lineup and mesmerizing experiences. There was a palpable sense of electricity in the air that contained a certain level of nostalgia, as well as excitement, when headlining act ZEDD hit the final beat at the festival.

The fourth edition of Vh1 Supersonic witnessed a lot of love from its audience through their overwhelming response to the festival’s transformation. Thousands of music lovers united at Laxmi Lawns to experience the biggest names in international music such as Eric Prydz, Macklemore and Zedd.  What brought the festival to life were the immersive experiences curated by Team Supersonic keeping in mind every need of festival goers.
