Amanda Sodhi Meet, the female lyricist behind Made In Heaven's tracks

Amanda Sodhi an Indian - American is the lyricist for Zoya Akhtar's much awaited series ‘Made in Heaven’. She has written lyrics for the track Musafir which is featured in Episode 5 and another track called Jiya Jaye which is featured in Episode 8. The music is composed by Sagar Desai and sung by Rituraj (Jiya Jaye) and Farhad Bhiwandiwala (Musafir). The songs have been released on 8th March (Women's Day).

Amanda Sodhi is an Indian-American singer-songwriter, lyricist, filmmaker, VO artist, theatre professional, freelance model and founder of Pen Paper Dreams. Born and brought up in Washington, DC (where she co-wrote her first award-winning feature film Life! Camera Action...), Amanda Sodhi later moved to Los Angeles (where she wrote and directed short films The Dance of Death and Through Bloodshot Eyes that travelled to film festivals around the world and also translated several of Prasoon Joshi's lyrics from Hindi to English for his anthology Sunshine Lane).

Amanda Sodhi says, “While I was travelling to Kalimpong, I noticed Sagar Desai's Facebook post that he was looking for Punjabi lyrics. Coincidentally, I had just written something that happened to be in Punjabi during my travels. So, I sent it to him, unaware what the project even was. And, that ended up becoming Musafir. Later, when I was travelling, yet again, this time to Gangtok, he reached out with a scratch track of Jiya Jaye. I was stuck inside a cafe during the rain and wrote the song that very day. Of course, both these songs' final versions are a lot shorter than the initial lyrics I had sent. But, I love the vibe of the compositions - they are fun, upbeat songs!”
