Ritviz announces debut album ‘Dev’

One of the country’s most promising electronic music producers, Ritviz Srivastava from Pune known for his bass heavy music with a generous influence of Hindustani classical music has announced his debut album which will launch in the first week of October.

After having established his sound and identity with the last two EPs namely Yuv and Ved, with anthemic tracks such as Udd Gaye, Sage and Jeet, the promising musical prodigy, is now taking the big leap to release 8 brand new tracks (Liggi, Chalo Chalein, Thandi Hawa, Dev, Sargam, Chini, Sawari and Hum Toh Hai) compiled under one massive record-breaking album titled ‘Dev’.

The new album is a melting pot of his entire creative palette as a musician. Liberating itself from the the loosely defined constrains of genres, the upcoming album brings together sounds of hindustani classical, hip-hop, drum & bass, moombahton and pop music. The album also features collaborations Anvita Bharti (Ritviz's mother) and Delhi hip-hop duo Seedhe Maut, to name a few.

At a time when popular music has reached heights of monotony and most mainstream musicians are writing music based on tried and tested formulas, Ritviz has managed to break free from the shackles of conventional music and is now taking the world by storm, one song at a time, pushing the boundaries of independent music, music video content and traditional forms of marketing.

Confirmed as one of the opening acts for Katy Perry and Dua Lipa for their maiden performance in India, Ritviz states, “It took about four years to work on the album. It’s more than just music, its breaking away from the shackles and living for the moment. Dev is my debut full-length album and it has everything that I want to showcase my soundscape that I have cultivated over all these years. My mother who is a music teacher imbibed a strong musical influence in me whilst I was growing up and it’s fantastic to have one of my mentors collaborate with me on this album. Infact I have incorporated most of my early influencers in this album. In my initial years, I used to wake up to my mom singing bandhish. Then, came the Vh1 era and my teen years were spent listening to pop music. But, post 2011-12, when I started producing music, electronic music was what really drew me closer to production and that's when I created 'Mukti' and 'Beatific' and started my entire journey.”

23-year old electronic music producer, composer and singer, Ritviz shot to viral fame with release of his hit single Udd Gaye. In a partnership between Bacardi, All India Bakchod & Nucleya - Udd Gaye was handpicked by the best in the business to be the biggest party anthem of the year. Following up this massive hit with a series of sticky numbers through the year, Ritviz has made a name for himself as one of the most widely followed electronic music producer in India today. His ability to effortlessly merge Hindustani classical elements with electronic beats & breezy vocals has taken Indians by storm, all over the world. Having started out at the age of 6, currently he is one of the most streamed artist on Spotify India since it's launch in March 2019. Ritviz has performed sold out concerts across India with a highlight show at Bacardi NH7 Weekender Pune in December 2018.
