Pune’s Aswekeepsearching’s third album ‘Rooh’ set to woo fans

The 5-year old, Pune-based band Aswekeepsearching which grabbed international headlines for their edgy post-rock music, is all set to woo fans with their upcoming album ‘Rooh’.

Almost two years after their second album ‘Zia,’ their latest album ‘Rooh’ (meaning soul), brings alive the band's experiences, struggles and self-awareness over the years. An evolved form of their distinct post-rock sound ‘Rooh’ has been mixed and mastered by Australian record producer Forrester Savell. The band has also introduced the sarangi into their music for the very first time featuring Ustad Alla Rakha Kalawant in the song Aas Pass from the album.

Rooh is an expression of every member of the band, an extension of our experiences as a group and as individual musicians. The tracks amplify certain emotions, certain scenarios and memories that we’ve collected over the years. We’ve changed our feel withnew layers and textures, edging more towards a rock than a post-rock sound, different from our previous two albums. We wanted to do something unique with Rooh and have already received some incredible feedback from our listening sessions” said the band’s frontman and lead vocalist, Uddipan Sarmah.

The music video for the title track of the album has already been launched and has received rave reviews from listeners. In the lead-up to the launch, the band has also been conducting exclusive listening sessions all across the country and will be performing the tracks for the first time ever at their album launch gig being held at AntiSocial, Mumbai on 10th October.

Audiences can listen to the new tracks on all major platforms like Apple Music, YouTube, YT Music, Sound Cloud, JioSaavn, Amazon Prime Music, Google Play Music, TIDAL and Wynk Music.

The band kickstarts their album tour this October and will be performing in nine major cities across the country. They’re also set to perform at the One Plus Music Festival this November, headlined by Katy Perry.
