Rapper Divine creates tribute track for COVID 19 heroes

One of India’s most popular rapper Divine has come out in support of the COVID 19 heroes.

Titled “Project Salaam”, the humanitarian initiative is produced by the 29-year-old Hindi rapper’s independent endeavor Gully Gang Entertainment. This new track aims to bind the nation in a gesture of solidarity and express gratitude to the doctors, nurses, paramedics, hospital staff, police officers, and others in the essential line of work, by partnering with Give India and Pharm Easy to provide financial aid as they battle the global pandemic.

In association with Budweiser Divine born Vivian Fernandes, the song is part of the ‘One Team’ initiative launched by the Budweiser 0.0 on World Health Day to recognize frontline workers around the world who are rising above the challenges we face and working tirelessly helping keep everyone safe. They remind us that we are ‘One Team’ and the greatest impact comes when we work together.

This new track chronicles a message of hope that we will not only endure but win the war against the pandemic. The reflective track with its’ fiery verses is produced by Karan Kanchan with assistance from visual director JD and mix mastering by Stunnah with an introductory vocal by rapper D’Evil.

Reflecting on the track, Divine states, “There are health workers, police officers, and many other professionals on the front lines. They're living proof that real life superheroes don't wear capes. Today, I salute all my brothers and sisters, across the globe, on the frontlines who are relentlessly putting their lives at stake to safeguard the wellbeing of the common man. The track ‘Salaam’ commends their unconditional love and their combatant spirit, and I hope it can ignite a sense of optimism and positivity in these dark times, and feed and fuel your souls. After we come out of this atrocious calamity, I hope humans are nicer to one another and fairer to one another. We are all in this together and will win this fight slowly but surely. I am thankful to Budweiser for partnering with me and Gully Gang on this project, so that we can truly make a difference and help those in need through groups like GiveIndia and PharmEasy.”

Project Salaam is produced by the rapper’s independent endeavor Gully Gang Entertainment.
