09th December, 2021Noted fusion guitarist and music composer Ravi Iyer releases his latest single called Flying. This single is a remake of an old tune of his which he has re-composed with an entirely new arrangement and avatar.
It all started with a candid discussion between Ravi Iyer and veteran sound engineer Aslam Khan at Headroom Studio whom Ravi met during the recording of his earlier highly acclaimed composition called ‘Synthesis - The Indian Muse’ thanks to Nanni Singh of ShowCase Events.
This conversation fruitfully led one to the other and soon had the uber talented Music Producer, Drummer Mann Bipin, who has orchestrated, performed Drums and produced and has most effectively elevated the composition to achieve the desired sound and style that we had envisioned.
The lyrics have been penned by Manisangsu Bhowmik, and going by the flow of words and the thoughts Ravi Iyer, though not a regular as a vocalist decided to render the lyrics in his own natural voice, keeping it narrative with very profound nuances and a strikingly trippy chorus at the end. Joining on Upright Bass is the eminent Shovon Mukherjee lending a vintage music dimension to this composition.
Aslam Khan, along with Benvin Fernandes and Elvis Fernandes have recorded, mixed and mastered this song at Headroom Studio. Suyash Mohan has most efficiently directed and has handled the camera duties for the video. He has also designed the cover art of the single Flying. Ravi Iyer has edited the video.
Flying can be termed as blues genre having a vintage music blend conveying a strong social message.
