Born and raised in Chennai, multilingual, genre- fluid singer - songwriter and Hindustani classical vocalist Sahana Naresh will sing at the drop of a hat.

Sahana grew up listening to an eclectic array of music genres thanks to her parents - Carnatic music, Kollywood and Bollywood intertwined with 70's rock and roll influences like “The Beatles”.

Sahana is currently embracing the wide spectrum of her musical influences and composing music in English, Hindi and Tamil. She believes her music is like a long conversation one has with their closest friend. At the heart of her music are the stories we all share - the fight against societal norms, the late night existential over thinking and the courage that it takes to a live a life thats truly ours.With over 500,000 streams on Spotify alone, Sahana has released 11 singles and 1 EP, along with 7 music videos.

‘Shore Out Of Reach’, Sahana’s debut EP is an ode to the artist's fascination and love for the mysteries of the sea and the deep metaphors they inspire. Through music she hopes to pay tribute to the dreams she follows, relationships that nourish her and the truths she uncovers. Shortlisted out of 200 applicants to perform at the All About Music (AAM) conference Indie Showcase in Mumbai

Sahana has performed at Covelong Surf Festival at Kovalam in 2023, was shortlisted at the Deccan Alternative Music Conference as Bangalore’s top 8 Indie music acts of 2024.

Her single Raat Kate was sync-licensed to a Canadian TV show “Potluck Ladies” as the OST in 2024, while her song Only Constant is Change featured on Radio One, while Vaari Vaar ’featured on RedFM and Radio One. She has also opened for Emmy award winning comic

Vir Das at two of his shows in Bangalore, 2024 and did her debut Tamil track challenging patriarchy in the song Naalu Peru which she composed for Warner Music India’s show “Maati” crossed over 2M views on YouTube.

Between sync deals, surf festival gigs, and opening for Vir Das, Sahana’s journey is just getting brighter. Chasin Light is a flashlight for anyone fumbling through life’s in-betweens.
