Mumbai based singer Kavya Jones’ new song Boondon Mein oozes with sensuous visuals packed alongside a groovy swinging vibe. The R & B slow paced song is written, produced and composed by Leslee Lewis and has been engineered and mastered by 2 time Grammy Winner, Colin Lenard at SING Mastering, New York.

As the founder and owner of the studio, Lenard has worked with many recording artists, including Justin Bieber, Jay Z, Paul McCartney and Elton John. In 2024, he won a Grammy Award for Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical for ‘Jaguar II’ by Victoria Monét and, in 2025, he won for ‘Album Of The Year’ for ‘Cowboy Carter’ by Beyoncé, as well as having received 14 nominations in the past. His work with Kavya adds class and produces a sound that is stupendous.

Kavya states, “This track has been one of the most iconic collaborations of my career. The music video has been shot in Thailand with a great team who worked hard to get everything right”. By the listen to it, you can gauge that this track is a far cry from the work Kavya is known for. The song moves into a new direction that shows that she is ready to take on any genre that comes her way with practiced ease. The romantic and sensuous Afro - R&B track from India’s rising pop star shows her in a spot she has not treaded on.

“The song is about me being present in every raindrop. Its shows him playfully splashing me around not realizing that every time he touches one raindrop it turns me on as I’m in every drop. And he doesn’t even know it” states the Mumbai based singer whose music video complements every word. The richness in her voice can felt right through the track, accompanied by its smooth and groovy beats, with super sax in the background.

“This is the most sensuous and groovy track I have done ever. It is a musical celebration of desire, rain, and feminine power”, confesses the singer.

Kavya completed her academics by graduating in Mass Media (BMM) from K.C. College. Coming from a B-town background (her grandfather was a script writer for films, the late Charandas Shokh), Kavya wanted to extend his legacy through her very own Bollyworld.

Performing live was a forte for the young Kavya. Once she finished college, she took up a full-time singing career, performing in a choir known as The Stop Gaps. Since then, she has performed in more than 100 shows with various music stalwarts and has extensively travelled the globe. Talking about her personal life, she says that she loves music, dance, and travelling, and can be identified as a foodie too. While she is single but, paradoxically, is focused on releasing singles.

Kavya has been training to sing Hindustani Classical music since the age of 5 under her guru Dr. Minakshi Biswas. Currently she is studying under the renowned Indian Classical Vocalist Kaushiki Chakraborty, and has also briefly studied western classical music under Alfred D’souza.

Since the last few years she has performed live on stage with various renowned Indian Bollywood artists like Shaan, Colonial Cousins, Siddharth Mahadevan, Amit Mishra, Divya Kumar, Shivam Mahadevan to name a few.

Jones released her first independent self titled debut  EP – ‘Kavya Jones’ in 2020  featuring the singles Aaja Meri Baahon Mein which garnered instant appreciation from various artists in the music industry.  The second single from the EP a ballad titled Behek Gayi Mai got play listed at No 1 on Wynk Music platform and was extensively played on the Mirchi Music Radio Channel. The entire EP was featured on the Jio Saavan Music Platform

Thereafter her other singles Tu Hai Mera and Oo Oo Mere Dil Mein Tu hit the radio charts by entering the Top 20 songs.

Jones has graced the cover of the Perfect Woman Magazine and was placed amongst Top 30 Women in Entertainment.

In 2023, Kavya was invited to New York, to be a part of the Fund Raising Gala Event hosted by Manavi  – The first South Asian Women’s Rights Organization founded in the United States in 1985.  “It was a proud moment for me to be part of supporting this cause along the Grammy Award Winning Key Note Speaker Chandrika Tandon”, says the singer.

But for the moment Kavya’s concentration is on her new Hindi song Boondon Mein. “Come dive in with me to experience the most sensuous and groovy track of my career. Come feel the pleasure, beautiful romantic and wet, as you touch every drop of rain around you. “WOH MAIN HU” ….  That’s Me”, she signs off.
