18th August, 2025To celebrate the era of Pink Floyd's iconic rock music, guitarist Ravi Iyer and his band perform "Shades of Pink" at the NCPA. By performing these songs, this Mumbai-based group hopes to honor the original Pink Floyd songs and preserve the band's music for future generations.
Iyer and his band set out to reminisce the era of Pink Floyd’s legendary rock music. This ensemble aims to keep Pink Floyd's music alive for new generations while honouring the original compositions, through their performances.
Iyer and his bandmates have spent months mastering Pink Floyd's work, from The Wall trilogy to Shine On You Crazy Diamond. The 20-song setlist includes fan favourites like Comfortably Numb, Time, and Money, as well as longer pieces like the 23-minute Echoes.
The band focuses on recreating the distinctive sound that made Pink Floyd legendary. Iyer, who comes from a fusion music background, applies his experience to these classic rock compositions. The performance is divided into two sets with an interval - taking audiences through different phases of Pink Floyd's remarkable career. From the early psychedelic sounds to the conceptual albums that made them famous, the evening covers the band's evolution over the decades.
