AP Dhillon announces new single ‘By My Side’ is a country-inspired sound shift

Punjabi hitmaker AP Dhillon has unveiled his newest single By My Side. Known for breaking boundaries and blending cultures through music, AP explores a fresh sonic direction with a guitar-led, country-inspired sound — a shift that still carries his signature warmth and emotional depth.

The track marks a new chapter for the singer, rapper, and producer — this time releasing alongside Shinda Kahlon — where AP leans into storytelling and acoustic textures, reflecting a more intimate, reflective musical mood as he closes out 2025 with this song and more surprises to come.

Over the past few years, AP Dhillon has emerged as one of the most-streamed South Asian artists globally, currently reaching 19M+ monthly listeners on Spotify alone and amassing 7 billion+ career streams. His music has made a global impact — with three of his songs entering the Spotify Daily Global Charts, peaking as high as #38 — and he continues to shape the international conversation around Punjabi music. In 2023, AP made history as the first Punjabi-language artist to perform at the Juno Awards. His work and cultural influence have been profiled in Billboard, GQ, Rolling Stone, Forbes, Vogue India and more.

Speaking on the new single, AP Dhillon shares:“I’ve always believed music has no boundaries. ‘By My Side’ came from a place of honesty. It’s about connection, distance, and the people who stay with you through everything. I grew up listening to all kinds of music, and this track allowed me to tap into another side of myself.”

By My Side is out now on all streaming platforms.
