17th November, 2025Renowned world music artist Nadaka and gifted young percussionist Keshava announce the release of their much-anticipated new album, ‘In Candescence’ — a radiant exploration of sound as illumination.
The album’s title, drawn from the phrase “inner candescence,” evokes a state of luminous where East meets West, and tradition meets innovation.
With his Geet-Taar — a unique 24-string instrument that he created, blending the spirit of Indian strings with the expressiveness of the guitar — Nadaka weaves intricate melodic landscapes.
Keshava’s deeply intuitive mastery of tabla and global percussion forms the heartbeat of this dialogue. Together, they create a soundscape that is soulful yet contemporary, complex yet effortlessly fluid. ‘In Candescence’ flows through luminous, guitar-driven compositions that bridge Indian ragas, progressive jazz, Latin–Spanish rhythms, and Middle Eastern textures. Each piece glows with rhythmic vitality and emotional depth, carried by Keshava’s dynamic percussion — from tabla and frame drums to subtle hand textures.
What sets this album apart is the profound synchronicity between the two artists. Years of performing together have forged an intuitive connection where every note, silence, and rhythm feels like conversation — a living meditation in sound. Immersive and uplifting, this album offers not merely music, but a journey through resonance and joy.
“In the rousing world of East–West fusion, there continue to be pioneering artists who successfully create their own worldly amalgams… To that esteemed roster one may rightfully add the Quebec born guitarist and multi-instrumentalist, Nadaka.” — Robert Kaye, Abstract Logix
Born and raised in Québec, Nadaka began playing guitar at a young age. Drawn to Eastern philosophy, he journeyed solo to India as a teenager and became one of the early pioneers of Auroville, where he has lived for over 50 years. His deep immersion in Indian classical music led him to study the Veena and Sarod, eventually inspiring him to create the Geet-Taar — a 24-string acoustic instrument that unites the tonal depth of Indian strings with the harmonic versatility of the guitar.
Known for his virtuosity and meditative tone, Nadaka’s sound bridges Indian classical, jazz, and world fusion. With nearly 100,000 monthly Spotify listeners, he has collaborated with acclaimed artists including A.R. Rahman, Ganesh Rajagopalan, and Vikku and Selvaganesh Vinayakram (Shakti).
“In Candescence grew out of a serendipitous musical bond with Keshava — years of playing together, filled with constantly evolving experiments and improvisations. When not in play mode, we often found ourselves listening to the masters of all eras and styles. Our own distinct style of music grew through attune-ment, and Keshava’s skill and delicate sensitivity on the tabla and percussion always bring a rich and beautiful complement to my instrument.” says Nadaka.
A prodigious tabla player and percussionist, Keshava began performing at age two. At just seven, he captured global attention performing center stage at the 2010 Commonwealth Games Opening Ceremony before a worldwide audience.
Immersed in East–West musical traditions from childhood, Keshava grew up performing with Nadaka and his mother, vocalist Gopika. He continues his classical training under Pandit Yogesh Samsi, and has been mentored and encouraged by Ustad Zakir Hussain, whose influencebroadened his exploration of world percussion.
Currently based in Vienna, Keshava studies Ethnic Percussion and Improvisation at the Friedrich Gulda School of Music, evolving into a vibrant cross-cultural artist uniting rhythmic complexitywith emotional depth.
“For as long as I can remember, playing with Nadaka was just natural, and over the years, his compositions and all the improvisations together were a joyful conversation of rhythm and tone. For me, In Candescence is a glimpse into those unique moments where music effortlessly falls into place” says Keshava.
Available on Spotify and all major streaming platforms on 17th November 2025 and in CD Format later in the year.
