Curry announces Suprabhatha EP with first track “Seetha Kalyana” out now

Mangalore-born, Mumbai-based South Indian pop trio Curry is set to release their upcoming EP ‘Suprabhatha’, a four-track project rooted in the cultural richness of coastal Karnataka.

Known for creating music across 22 languages, the trio—Ryo, Sheesh, and Kanasue—blends Indian traditions with a contemporary global sound. With the first track, Seetha Kalyana, already out, the EP rollout begins in April 2026.

Speaking about their approach, the band shares, “Since it deeply borrows from Mangalorean culture, authenticity comes naturally. It isn’t something that’s forced. As far as the modern music landscape that it is set in, that comes from practice and perfecting our technique over the years. Eventually the two blend together and it becomes an artist’s style. That is how things naturally happen.”

Shot across heritage locations in the Karavali region, ‘Suprabhatha’ blends Carnatic elements like ragas Reethigowla and Bageshree with electronic production, reflecting the trio’s evolving, genre-fluid sound. The project builds on earlier releases like Mariegold and Sukoon, further establishing their distinct musical identity.

The band recently drew attention after performing at the wedding of actors Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda. Recalling the moment, they say, “We are quite active on Instagram and our reels reach a large and varied audience. So Vijay happened to be a listener. in his words, ‘I HAD to have you guys come perform here and watch you and listen to you live’. He wanted us on board for his wedding because of this. Instagram played a huge role in it. So glad that we have the best audience on social media! They made this one possible."
