21st May, 2026What happens when the world’s most iconic living room meets India’s favourite neighbourhood third space? At the new Palladium SOCIAL, now moved and open at Gourmet Village, Phoenix Palladium, the answer unfolds one room at a time.
Drawing inspiration from IKEA’s catalogue-like world of everyday living, Palladium SOCIAL reimagines the café-bar as a walkthrough environment of interconnected, lived-in zones. It brings together the spirit of accessible design, urban community, democratic experiences, and the idea of making everyday life better; all through SOCIAL’s own playful lens.
For the interiors, the idea is IKEA. The outlet moves through spaces that feel like parts of a home: kitchens waiting for a house party, living rooms already mid-conversation, dining corners made for lingering, and bunk beds you are not quite sure you are allowed to nap in. Every corner feels familiar, but slightly offbeat, almost like stepping into an IKEA catalogue that has come to life, only to be fully lived in.
At its heart, the new Palladium SOCIAL is built on a shared cultural idea: that good design and great social spaces should be accessible, democratic, and deeply human. Both IKEA and SOCIAL, in their own ways, have shaped how young urban India experiences everyday life - IKEA through the language of home, function, and accessible design; SOCIAL through the language of cafés, community, work, play, and belonging.
This outlet is an affectionate interpretation of contemporary aspirational living, seen through the lens of young India. As urban India sees the rise of nuclear families, compact homes, hybrid routines, and more fluid social lives, the idea of the “living room” is changing. For younger Millennials and Gen Z, third spaces are increasingly becoming extensions of home, i.e. places to work, meet, pause, celebrate, eat, drink, and simply be.
Palladium SOCIAL takes this zeitgeist and turns it into a playful conversation between two cultural references: the world’s most recognisable idea of home, and India’s favourite neighbourhood third space.
Commenting on the newly designed outpost, Riyaaz Amlani, Founder and Managing Director, Impresario Entertainment & Hospitality Pvt. Ltd., said, “At SOCIAL, we have always believed that the best spaces are the ones people can make their own. IKEA has changed how people imagine everyday living by making design feel accessible, functional, and full of possibility. With Palladium SOCIAL, we were inspired by that familiar world of rooms, catalogues, and lived-in settings, and reinterpreted it through the SOCIAL lens. The idea was not to create a formal dining environment, but a place that feels intuitive, democratic, and alive. A space where people can eat, drink, work, meet, pause, and find their own corner within it.”
Patrik Antoni, CEO, IKEA India, further shares, “At IKEA, we have always believed that good design should be experienced, not just seen. Palladium SOCIAL is a playful expression of that idea- a space that feels open, relaxed, social, and full of personality. It reflects how younger urban India is increasingly blending home, work, leisure, and community into one fluid way of living. For us, this is an exciting example of how IKEAsolutions can help brands create immersive, culture-led experiences that go far beyond traditional spaces.”
This reopening also marks Palladium SOCIAL’s move into Gourmet Village at Palladium, Mumbai’s first-of-its-kind dining destination where globally inspired cuisine meets an immersive, design-led environment. Located within Phoenix Palladium, one of the city’s most iconic luxury retail destinations, Gourmet Village draws inspiration from the idea of an eclectic village with a refined, open-air sensibility.
“We are delighted to welcome SOCIAL to Gourmet Village at Phoenix Palladium, a move that further strengthens our vision of building one of Mumbai’s most progressive and culturally relevant dining destinations. Gourmet Village was conceptualised as a contemporary culinary precinct that brings together distinct dining formats, cuisines, and experiences within an elevated, design-led environment tailored to the evolving preferences of today’s consumer.
SOCIAL has been an intrinsic part of the Palladium experience over the years, consistently resonating with the city’s evolving social and dining culture. Its transition into Gourmet Village represents a natural next chapter in that journey, bringing together a brand with strong cultural recall and a destination designed to champion next-generation food and lifestyle experiences. SOCIAL’s unique blend of community, creativity and hospitality adds a compelling dimension to Gourmet Village’s thoughtfully curated F&B portfolio.” said Varun Chhibber, CEO: Hotels & President: Malls, The Phoenix Mills Ltd.
For SOCIAL, Palladium has always been a high-energy, high-footfall location where shoppers, office-goers, families, and weekend regulars naturally collide. The new outlet builds on that familiarity while offering guests a completely fresh way to experience the brand, one that feels part café-bar, part home, part design playground, and part neighbourhood hangout.
The menu continues to reflect SOCIAL’s all-day, comfort-first approach, designed to cater to a wide range of occasions, whether it is a quick stop between errands, a post-work catch-up, or a more relaxed, sit-down experience. This balance between familiarity and evolution remains central to the brand’s philosophy.
With its new Palladium address, SOCIAL once again reinforces its ability to adapt to context while staying true to what it does best, creating democratic, design-forward social spaces that people do not just visit, but inhabit.
