Vernon Noronha announces ‘Goodbye Never Again', first single from his upcoming album ‘Marie’

Mumbai-based singer-songwriter Vernon Noronha announces the release of Goodbye Never Again, the first single from his forthcoming full-length album ‘Marie’, arriving later this year. The single released on 27th August, 2026.

A deeply personal song about love, separation and hope, Goodbye Never Again captures the emotional space between wanting to stay and having to leave, reflecting on goodbyes not as endings, but as promises to return.

“I wrote it while leaving someone I deeply cared about, knowing there was nothing I could do except offer hope and promise I’d be back. Sometimes the hardest part isn't saying goodbye. It’s walking away when your heart wants to stay,” says Noronha.

Written during a flight, the song emerged from a moment of pure emotion and instinct. For Noronha, the writing process is rooted in spontaneity and honesty.

“I write only when I have to; I don’t force it. The melody flows as I write the lyrics; it’s almost like I’m writing a song directly,” he explains.

Goodbye Never Again serves as the introduction to ‘Marie’, Noronha’s first full-length album dedicated entirely to love songs. Written over several years, the album brings together different chapters of his life, with several songs inspired by his relationship with his now-wife, Lisa.

The album title carries a personal significance. Lisa’s father, a jazz drummer in his younger years, had always hoped to name his daughter Lisa Marie, inspired by Elvis Presley’s daughter, Lisa Marie Presley. Due to circumstances at the time, the second name was never added. Years later, Noronha chose ‘Marie’ as the album title, a tribute to Lisa and a way of fulfilling a name that held meaning for her family.

Recorded, mixed and mastered at Caliac Studios under the guidance of Malay Vadalkar (bassist of Easy Wanderlings), ‘Marie’ features contributions from Govind Gawli on bass, Leron d’Souza on keys, and additional vocals from MaSHEEN Studios on two tracks.

With its calm atmosphere, earthy hooks and reflective storytelling, Goodbye Never Again captures the intimate world of Marie, a record built around love, memory and the moments that stay with us long after they pass.

‘Marie’ releases later this year.
