Eric Clapton and Friends – The Breeze: An Appreciation of JJ Cale (Universal Music) – 395/-

Eric Clapton brings in close friends Mark Knopfler, Willie Nelson, Tom Petty and John Mayer to play tribute to the late guitarist and songwriter JJ Cale who died in 2013 at the age of 74. The tracks here are very symbolic of the Oklahoma native and not many of the 16 tracks really take a new reinvention down the line. The set also has former Cale bandmate Don White, who gives a helping hand to contribute renditions honoring the late musician.

With the exception of a few catchy numbers with equally catchy choruses, most of the songs here get repetitive and hard on the ears, but if you like your music loud and brash, which is what 5 SOS bring you, take your fill of the newest under 17s on the block, who have made a name for themselves closely after boy band One Direction.

Lorde certainly stole the show at the 56th Grammy Awards in Los Angeles this year. Nominated in four categories (Record of the Year, Best Pop Solo Performance, Song of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album for Pure Heroine), the singer took home gold trophies for Song of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance for 'Royals'. Today, Lorde is the third-youngest Grammy winner in history.
