Skizo – Mojado (Times Music) Rs. 360/-

DJs/Producers Mojado aka Mr. Sam and Dimitri Andreas have brought out a splendid dance album for the clubbers out there. There are many genres in this music album and labeling it one would mean down sliding another.

So simply put on this their second album you have alternative underground club music, progressive house, trance and techno with world music sound all rolled into one. And yes a lot of electronica too.

While most of the 13 tracks are instrumental a few are laced with neat vocals in between, which actually is really unnecessary. But tune into Ethno Preacher that has a little Afro tribal, rap and rasta sound. The song takes on an analytical if not entertaining take on the Bible. Spreading the message of peace and harmony through music and you have Make it work that features someone called Stanford on vocals. Free your mind is one standout for its catchy melody and bass lines. Very interesting is Hijo De Africa sung by African children and has interesting string arrangements.

Most to the tracks tend to be longer than the stipulated song one might often hear, but then this is the days of the electoronica, so it’s excusable. The album comes close to Enigma and Deep Forest at the first listen, but this is far off from it. You think so because of the track Kali. Instead this is pure dance material sure to get you on the dance floor.
