Bob Weir Live at the Chicago Theatre

Bob Weir and Wolf Bros played a great show at Chicago Theater, creating a set list consisting of songs by Grateful Dead, Willie Dixon, Ratdog and covers. Bobby's vocals, chordal passages and guitar solos sounded really good.

Weir was adequately supported by drummer Jay Lane; however, upright bassist Don was not much audible. The highlights of the show for me were Bertha, Saint of Circumstances from Set One and Shakedown Street, The Other One, Morning Dew from Set Two and Ripple (encore).

This concert has given me a fair idea of how a Grateful Dead or Dead & Company concert would have been. The theater was full of old-timer Deadhead hippies, smoking and passing marijuana and speed joints freely inside the theater and the cops never bothered them, outside the theater, the Deadheads were selling bootleg, home-made merchandize and it was like a carnival. I grabbed a tee and the set list from the soundboard for my trivia.

Concert: Bob Weir and the Wolf Bros.

Concert venue: The Chicago Theatre, IL, US

Concert date: 11th March 2020.

Rating: 3.5/5
