Desi Trill presents ‘Brown Is Everywhere Vol. 2’

2024 marked an unequivocally historic period for Desi Trill, the urban pioneering South Asian music label founded by industry stalwarts Ty-Ty Smith and Shabz Naqvi that has transcended traditional boundaries to become a formidable genre and cultural movement.

By seamlessly fusing the rich tapestry of South Asian heritage with the contemporary cadences of hip-hop, R&B and pop, Desi Trill has indelibly reshaped the global music landscape.

A recent, monumental achievement saw the label's inclusion in the soundtrack for Paramount’s record-breaking animated feature, The Smurfs. This collaboration marked a significant milestone as the first animated film to incorporate distinct Punjabi sounds on Higher Love, with Desi Trill’s own Natania and Subhi featuring alongside global icons Cardi B and DJ Khaled. This strategic placement has undeniably propelled the label to the forefront as a leading trailblazer in globalizing Indian musical artistry.

Now, precisely one year following the debut of their eponymous EP, Desi Trill proudly announces the highly anticipated release of Desi Trill Presents… ‘Brown Is Everywhere (Volume 2)’. This compilation represents a meticulously curated and versatile collection of musical expressions, once again bringing South Asian culture and community to the global mainstage with unparalleled verve.

The EP showcases the exceptional talents of six signed acts, each contributing a diverse and compelling range of styles. The Nigerian-Indian rap sensation YUNG SAMMY makes an emphatic adventure speckled statement on Mr Rambo. Subhi, meanwhile, masterfully transports listeners to the very soul of India with the exquisitely crafted ballad, Tehtul-E-Ishq. Whilst DJ LYAN masterfully delivered a high tempo electro mix with Tauba. Finally, Aman, the newest signee to the Desi Trill roster, solidifies his reputation as a prodigious composer with Neend, a track graced by the soulful vocal stylings of Shaurya.
