Okay - ‘ROOTZ’ TroyBoi and Jazzy B

Electronic music pioneer and producer Troy Henry, better known as TroyBoi, is set to release his most personal and profound project to date: the EP, ROOTZ, on 19th September, 2025. This five-track masterpiece is a vibrant tribute to his diverse heritage, fusing his signature trap and bass sound with the rich, melodic traditions of Indian, Punjabi, House, and Hip-Hop cultures.

Released on Ultra Records, ‘Okay’ is a masterful blend of TroyBoi’s signature trap beats and Jazzy B’s iconic bhangra vocals. The track is a testament to TroyBoi's ability to seamlessly fuse disparate genres, creating a sound that is both authentic and fresh. This collaboration not only showcases the global reach of Punjabi music but also marks a new chapter in cross-cultural artistry. It's a journey that began in his London studio and has since captivated global audiences, earning him collaborations with music heavyweights and massive streaming success, including his 2018 remix of Billie Eilish’s MyBoi, which has over 110 million Spotify streams.

The release of ‘ROOTZ’ marks a pivotal moment in TroyBoi's career, as he delves into his personal history and the sounds that shaped him. With Indian, Chinese, Portuguese, and Nigerian descent, TroyBoi has always been a musical explorer. However, with ROOTZ, he gives a special nod to his Indian roots, a connection forged by his mother's love of Bollywood music.

The EP is a dynamic five-track journey featuring a range of collaborations, Masala with Punjabi-Canadian artist Amrit Maan and Kabhi which samples the legendary Lata Mangeshkar. Okay, a powerful collaboration with the legendary Punjabi singer Jazzy B is a testament to TroyBoi's ability to seamlessly blend disparate genres, marrying the energetic rhythms of bhangra with his hard-hitting trap beats and signature basslines. The choice of Jazzy B was a natural one for TroyBoi. "Jazzy B is someone my team's worked with for many years on various projects," he explains. "So when I made the beat for 'Okay,' I already heard him on it so we all agreed Jazzy was the perfect person to collaborate on it. We sent it to him right away and he nailed it!

The album ends with Beggin with Indo-Swiss artist BombayMami, and a solo track titled Kamli.

"I've always wanted to do an Indian EP because I grew up surrounded by the music," TroyBoi says. "This project is a tribute to my upbringing and the musical roots I was exposed to from childhood. The EP features an array of incredible collaborations, including veteran Punjabi singer Jazzy B on the track "Okay," Punjabi-Canadian artist Amrit Maan on "Masala," and Indo-Swiss artist BombayMami on "Beggin."

More than a musical experiment, ‘Okay’ is a celebration of cross-cultural artistry and a prime example of TroyBoi’s vision to fuse traditional Indian melodies with his modern production. This approach is deeply personal, especially on the EP's most significant track, Kabhi, which samples the voice of the late Lata Mangeshkar from Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham..., a film he watched repeatedly with his mother. TroyBoi shared that the sample was a "dream come true" and an "honor."

With four or five successful tours of India under his belt, TroyBoi has already cultivated an immense and passionate fanbase in the country. "The fans there are amazing," he says. "I've always had a lot of love for them." He is already looking at returning to India for a tour in early 2026.

Through ROOTZ, TroyBoi sends a powerful message to the next generation of South Asian artists. "Stay true to your roots and come up with authentic and fresh ways to incorporate the sounds that speak to you and inspire you as an artist or producer," he advises. "Without that, you’re not helping to expose the sounds to the masses. As artists and producers we need to acknowledge and celebrate the sounds we grew up with and contributed to shaping our talent”.

The EP is a testament to his own advice, serving as a bridge between the global South Asian diaspora and their homeland, and a powerful showcase of the endless possibilities that arise when one stays true to who they are.

T-R-O-Y-B-O-I. These letters are chanted by the masses at his shows, but the question is who is the artist incorporating stunning visuals, live instruments, and talented dancers? Troy Henry, the elusive producer got his start making his beats standing up in his London studio apartment kitchen with his MacBook and a MIDI keyboard. With Indian, Chinese, Portuguese, and Nigerian descent, TroyBoi provides a musical journey of hard-hitting beats, lights, visuals, and the unexpected. While his musical style can be broadly classified as trap, it's extraordinarily unique, and versatile, and fuses various textures from multiple genres.

Beyond his career releases which include his debut album ‘Left Is Right’ (2017) and a series of V!BEZ EPs in 2018 and 2019, his productions have caught the ear of major music stars. His 2018 remix of Billie Eilish's "MyBoi-TroyBoi Remix" has garnered almost 110 million Spotify streams and in 2019, Rihanna featured two of his songs Do You? and Malokara at her Savage x Fenty show, seen globally via Amazon Prime during New York Fashion Week.

In 2020 released, his highly anticipated VIBEZ Vol.4 featuring top hits like, Do You and Bellz. In early 2021, he released more hits like, Mad Ting, Buss It and RedEye with Justin Bieber which currently has over 100 million streams on Spotify.

In 2022, Troy showed his true love and inspiration for Latin Music with an EP titled INFLUENDO, and in April 2023, the long-awaited EP SAY LESS was released assembling some of trap music's OGs. TroyBoi revealed his “4 ON DA FLOOR” EP in June 2024 further establishing his mark in the music industry.
