Michael Jackson- Live in Bucharest: The Dangerous Tour – (Sony Music) Rs. 399/-

Live in Bucharest: The Dangerous Tour is a live concert DVD by American recording artist Michael Jackson which was released on 25th July, 2005. It was only four years later that the world would lose the King of Pop for his magic and dance moves. Truly we have lost a great singer, entertainer, musical genius who loved people and cared about children and the world more than he loved himself.

This DVD of the ‘Dangerous Tour ‘was the biggest our any performer had done in history, breaking his own record from the preceding ‘Bad’ tour. The incredible staging took nearly 3 days to set up and 20 trucks of equipment were shipped between countries on cargo planes, making headlines everywhere it went. The tour included 69 concerts reaching over 3.5 million fans.

The concert took place during Jackson's first leg on his Dangerous World Tour on October 1, 1992 at the Bucharest National Stadium, with a sold-out attendance of 90.000. It was the last night of the first leg of the tour. This concert is the first concert by Jackson that has been officially released on DVD in the United States.

This DVD will explain why Michael Jackson is and will always be labeled as the king of pop. Over ten years later he is still the biggest selling artist in world history. This DVD has so many mind blowing vocals and unbelievable dance moves that are nothing short of spectacular. Michael Jackson’s dance moves and song performances are sure to amaze and completely entertain you.

This DVD starts out with an amazing opening where Michael blasts up through the floor and lands on stage...and just stands in his position as the crowd goes insane at the sight of the legendary superstar, all studded out and ready to perform. Michael puts on a real show from the vocals to the dancing to the pyrotechnics and the overall theatrics. You've got classic songs, from J5, to selections from MJ's ‘Off the Wall’, ‘Thriller’, ‘Bad’, and ‘Dangerous’ albums. You've got great singing, great dancing, great choreography, great lighting, and an exuberant and adoring audience of at least 50,000. Billie Jean, Smooth Criminal, Man in the Mirror, Wanna Be Startin' Something, Beat It, Black or White and lost more.

MJ fans favorites like Jam, Human nature, I just Can't Stop Loving You, She's Out of My Life, Jackson 5 Medley (I Want You Back, The Love You Save, I'll Be there), Thriller, Will You Be There, Heal The World are all there, totally 17 tracks to mesmerize you. There are times he is so out of breath, he falls to his knees, or even flat on his face and just lies there. The crowd goes wild. Then he picks himself back up and starts again. He goes from one gut-busting song to the next. You can see his chest heaving from excursion. I have never, in all my life, seen a performer give so much of themselves to an audience. He is just out there, totally for them, heart and soul. I would have to say Michael Jackson is the greatest showman I have ever seen.

Over here I would like to recall my first major concert in Mumbai which was the Michael Jackson HIStory concert held at the Andheri Sports Complex on 1st November 1996. This concert was my first introduction to him as a live performer and I was blown away. I actually felt like I was there. I screamed, sang out loud, and cried, everything. He caused havoc that night, appearing in a spacesuit in the beginning, he wowed the crowd with a tilt of his hat. What more can I say. His amazing dancing, singing, as does the crotch grabbing, a great assortment of favorite Michael Jackson hits gave you goosebumps. The powerful speakers belting his songs equaled his powerful vocals. Great use of illusion throughout the show with great stunts. I recall a few fainting and getting carted off by paramedics. This was a show that brought all people and fans together. It was a show of a lifetime.

Mention must be made that towards the end of the concert and on the second to last song Heal the World, Michael tenderly leads little children out to the stage. You can see how his face lights up when looking at the kids and his love for children is apparent here. He kisses a little toddler and the look in his face is radiating love.Nonetheless this concert in Bucharest was great and real collector’s item that I will enjoy in the years to come.  Thought the shots of the fans are a bit too much, but it does show how Michael Jackson put a spell on his fans and leave you wanting more. He gelled with his fans; they were his friends, his family. No one was more innovative, entertaining, or dedicated to their craft than he was.

I recommend this to anyone and everyone that is looking for a TIMELESS concert DVD that, to this day hasn’t been matched by anyone else. He is a legend. Michael Jackson is next level. A true star.

I know it was the tours that really took it out of him and is what probably lead to his death but his live performances was what separated him from other entertainers. It's where his real genius lies.
