With the incredible success of her song Believe, marking a dizzying new peak in her career, Cher launched her first major concert tour in over eight years, bridging together songs spanning her four decades of continuous hits with the most spectacular state of the art concert production she has ever brought to the stage.
This 90 minute explosion of color, fashion and excitement, shows Cher as she hits the stage at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Paradise, Nevada, Las Vegas. In a show rich in sequins, velvet, lace and great music, Cher celebrates her return to the top of the charts with the ‘Do You Believe' ' Tour 1999 - the high energy experience that is Cher in concert.
Released by HBO, in 1999, this DVD contains footage from Cher's concert and features tracks from her many of studio albums, such as 'Gypsys, Tramps & Thieves' and 'Believe' album, alongside various covers.
Cher is simply the best and this DVD concert captures her in all her greatness. She has never looked better. She is quite stunning and her voice is just as mesmerizing as it was when he started off.
She goes through her hits one by one in an electrifying performance. She sings everything from I Found Someone to Half Breed to Believe. Other notable hits that she sings are the opener I Still Haven’t Found What I am Looking For, All or Nothing, Walking In Memphis, Just Like Jesse James, Strong Enough and If I could Turn Back Time.
In between songs Cher talks about her numerous costumes that she flaunts, and also showcases Sonny and Cher, Take Me Home film sequences. She transforms into several different looks throughout the show looking more and more beautiful and sexy than before. Every costume fits Cher like a glove, and everything she wore was pure "designer of the year" quality stuff from Bob Mackie.
Cher’s beauty, eye-popping costumes, acrobatic and dance performers are simply bang on, the video montages, and a talented band with backup singers are a treat to watch. Many under-appreciate Cher’s talent, but she demonstrates her talent in this concert through powerful hit songs and a montage of her film and TV career that she’s been a major star over many decades. The concert ends on a crescendo with a performance of Believe that will send chills up your spine. The 18 songs are sure to keep you hooked throughout.
