Led Zeppelin - On The Rock Trail (Import)

What makes a rock legend? The roar of the music, the screams of the crowd or simply the charisma exuded by a rare band of brothers who have the remarkable capability to rock the world. All of these answers, and many more, can be applied to Led Zeppelin, the true masters of such eternal rock classics as Stairway to Heaven and Whole lotta love.

When glam-rock took over the 1970s music scene. Led Zeppelin danced to their own tune, turning out wilder, raunchier and more powerful sounds that delighted audiences on an international scale. With the dynamic vocals and golden boy looks of Robert Plant, the mesmerising guitar and bass of Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones and last, but very definitely not least, the magnificent drumming of John Bonham, Led Zeppelin had a line-up that would rock on, or so it seemed, forever and a day.

But Led Zeppelin, like so many rock legends found that there was a high price to pay for living life in the fast lane. When John Bonham died tragically in 1980, at the age of 32. Led Zeppelin was disbanded, as the remaining members hadn't the heart to continue without the "Big Guy" on the drums. The fact that more than twenty years down the line, the music of Led Zeppelin lives on, is testament to the power of this true rock phenomenon that will never be forgotten.

In an intimate and fun – filled trip down memory lane chronicling the birth of one of music’s biggest legends, Liam Dale, the narrator of this documentary, has a rare ability as a filmmaker to produce, direct and present all at the same time. Yet when it comes to Rock Music, he really is at his most humorous and insightful best. It's fun to listen to the narrator as he takes you back in time to when the band first forms to when they hit it big. There isn't any music from the band or interviews of any members, which is stated on the packaging, but on this documentary he goes behind the scenes and presents to us a documentary of a band we all love.

Fans must note that this is also not an authorized DVD by the band or any of the affiliate entities.

That aside, this is a fantastic documentary about one of the great bands of all time. It's a nice complement to the other documentaries in the "On The Rock Trail" series.
