‘Ten Thousand Lightyears’ is the seventh studio album and the first to feature new member Reggie Tsiboe who took the place of Bobby Farrell's role as the band's original leading man and dancer in early 1982. He was joined by other bandmates and core vocalists Liz Mitchell and Marcia Barrett and Maizie Williams.

Shifting slightly away from their late-70s traditional disco style, this album heavily incorporates Europop, synth-pop, and science-fiction themes as can be seen from the blue album cover. Key track from the album include the title track 10,000 Lightyears, to the sweeping cosmic epic Exodus (Noah's Ark 2001), and flows into electronic grooves like Wild Planet and Future World. The record leans heavily into electronic drums, synthesizer soundscapes, and cinematic arrangements (featuring contributions from the Munich and London Philharmonic orchestras).

Other wonderful pieces on this 13 track album include Somewhere in the World, Bel Ami, Living Like a Moviestar, Dizzy, The Alibama, Jimmy, Barbarella Fortuneteller.

The catchy tunes and infectious rhythms will have you dancing and singing along in no time. Crafted with meticulous attention to detail, this vinyl record offers not only an exceptional listening experience but also a visually stunning addition to your collection.

This is one of my most favorite album from Boney M. Great atmosphere and vibe. The vinyl is great, quality is amazing. Very high quality pressing from Polydor at that time pressed at a plant in Calcutta. Even now when I play it, there are almost zero pops and clicks. The whole album sounds very dynamic with great clarity with crisp high frequencies and punchy low-end dynamics.
